The Client

Founded in 2012, Chia Charge is a brand based around the use of chia seeds, supplying energy and protein bars for anyone who wants energy and protein for their regular exercise, training and events.

The Brief

Chia Charge's Amazon sales had stagnated, as a result AYKO and Chia Charge established an ambitious growth strategy focused on launching paid Amazon PPC campaigns, along with product listing optimisations.

The Solution

We undertook keyword research and created Amazon PPC campaigns according to best practices to help scale and grow Chia Charge's Amazon sales, whilst also hitting or exceeding the agreed ROAS target.

Using a range of sponsored product campaigns, including both keyword and product matching campaigns, we helped Chia Charge's existing products further penetrate the highly competitive sports nutrition market.

Furthermore, sponsored products campaigns also were created for new products, to increase awareness and demand for these new products. Sponsored Brands campaigns were also utilised in a brand defence strategy, to protect loyal customers from competitors.

Additionally, Sponsored Display campaigns were setup to retarget Amazon shoppers who had viewed Chia Charge's products recently, but not yet purchased.

As a result, AYKO helped Chia Charge to increase average order value and brand loyalty, whilst decreasing the advertising cost of sales (ACOS) on Amazon. Therefore, not only growing Amazon as a sales channel, but also increasing its profitability.

No ROAS No Fee

Chia Charge had signed up to AYKO's No ROAS No Fee offer, where if we don't increase the ROAS in the first 3 months then AYKO's fee would be refunded in full.

In Month 1, Chia Charge's Amazon ROAS was slightly under the agreed ROAS target, as a result of running advertising campaigns on a number of new products launches - as a result, Chia Charge were refunded in full for Month 1.

The advertising data collected from Month 1 was then utilised for optimisations in Month 2 which resulted in AYKO exceeding the ROAS target, and achieving a ROAS of 4.5, at a higher ad spend. Organic sales had also increased as a result from listing optimisations made by AYKO and overall sales for January were up 30% compared to the previous January - therefore kick-starting the ambitious growth which Chia Charge were seeking on Amazon.

Chia Charge benefitted from signing up for a risk free 3 month trial of AYKO's Marketplaces PPC management services, as they weren't charged until we started making them more money than previously on Amazon.
