Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service: What to Expect from the June Release

Foreword

It’s been just 48 hours since Adobe announced “Adobe commerce as a cloud service” and here’s what Adobe has shared so far:

  • It’s real and accessible. Adobe confirms it’s live, fast, and ready to deploy instantly. You can have a new environment up and running in minutes. I’m excited to see that practical application & what will happen beyond the that initial setup after general release

‍

  • Speed and Performance: Adobe’s early tests indicate significant performance gains, suggesting improvements in site conversion rates and better SEO.

‍

  • Flexible Storefront: Adobe highlights the new storefront as optional. If you already have a headless storefront, Adobe Commerce as a Service integrates easily.

‍

  • Continued Support for PaaS: Adobe reassures existing Magento or Adobe Commerce (Platform as a Service) users that their setups aren’t going anywhere. Adobe confirms ongoing support, with updates delivered from a shared mainline codebase, preventing typical new-system challenges.

‍

  • Enhanced Features: Adobe Commerce as a Service includes enhanced image management, personalisation capabilities, and advanced A/B testing and experimentation tools.

‍

  • Admin Interface Overhaul: Adobe promises a major upgrade to the Magento backend, replacing the existing admin UI with a streamlined, intuitive interface that integrates seamlessly with Adobe’s latest personalisation and experimentation features.

‍

  • B2B Functionality in Progress: Initially, Adobe is focusing on retail, but B2B features will follow shortly after, addressing previous gaps in Adobe’s B2B offerings.

‍

  • Community Feedback: Adobe notes that community reaction has been cautiously optimistic and positive, highlighting enthusiasm around speed, reduced costs, and clear future direction.

Adobe expects further refinements before the general release in June and will continue sharing developments as they happen.

Whatever happens I’m excited! It’s fantastic to see investment in the Commerce suite, I’m not the only one that’s questioned the commitment to the solution since Adobe bought it… Whether the Adobe PaaS , SaaS, Magento Open source solution is right for you the key thing is there is focus in this area again & that can only be a good thing for the product roadmap creating positive competiton the battle of platforms for new logos.
