Introducing a full-width design, Google has enhanced its autocomplete interface providing a second column, taking Google search to the next level. It’s now easier than ever to access content on the internet, quickly and seamlessly.

Enhanced Autocomplete

The enhanced autocomplete feature will introduce additional search capabilities and predictions, showing related searches, what other users are asking, and content that is relevant and related to your search that you may also be interested in. Google is introducing a new edge to edge interface and we’ve discovered what this looks like.

You can see here how the regular searches bar appears on the left, with the new enhanced features appearing on the right. It took us some time to understand how this feature works, as it doesn’t seem to appear when you are on the Google desktop. Once you have made your search, if you head back to the search bar at the top of the page you’ll find the enhanced search feature appears.
We are yet to discover what impacts this has on the type of searches people are making, and what impact this has from an SEO perspective, but any change on Google large or small can have an effect on how people search and where they click.

We are aware that more changes will be taking place involving the full-width element, but these are still being tested. This includes full-width snippets and images.
