Overview:

UKFT is the largest network for fashion and textiles in the UK. As the industry’s leading trade association and Sector Skills Body, they play a central role in supporting sustainable growth across the UK fashion and textile supply chain.

With their wider digital estate spread across six separate WordPress sites, UKFT needed to reduce total cost of ownership and give their in-house marketing team far more control over publishing news, events and member content. Ayko delivered a full design and development migration to Webflow for their two largest sites, ukft.org and ukftfutures.org, consolidating UKFT Futures into the main UKFT website to bring key content into one clearer, more manageable platform.

The Challenge

UKFT’s wider digital estate was spread across multiple WordPress sites, creating a complex setup that made content harder to manage and limited the marketing team’s control over publishing.

As an organisation responsible for supporting the UK fashion and textiles industry, UKFT needed a digital platform that could clearly communicate its role, promote member value and make important content easier to discover. However, the existing setup increased maintenance effort, added cost and made it more difficult to keep content organised across key parts of the estate.

The migration also needed to protect the value of UKFT’s existing content. With the work focused on UKFT’s two largest sites, the project required careful planning to bring UKFT Futures into the main UKFT website without disrupting user journeys or search visibility.

The new site needed to achieve several key objectives from the outset.

Bringing UKFT and UKFT Futures together in one flexible Webflow platform.
Make key industry, member and event content easier to navigate.
Protect SEO visibility through a carefully planned redirect strategy.
Alongside this, the website needed to make a stronger case for membership. The experience had to show prospective members the support, opportunities and sector value available through UKFT, while giving the internal team confidence to manage news, events and member content independently.

Our Approach

Ayko designed and developed a modern Webflow website built around clearer structure, stronger membership messaging and easier content management.

The approach began with information architecture. Ayko reviewed how UKFT’s existing content was organised and reshaped the site structure to create clearer journeys for members, prospective members and wider industry audiences. This helped bring related content together, simplify navigation and create a more intuitive experience across the site.

Rather than delivering a like-for-like migration, Ayko rebuilt the experience around UKFT’s role within the fashion and textiles sector. UKFT Futures was consolidated into the main UKFT website, the interface was refreshed with a more contemporary feel and the membership story was woven throughout the experience to highlight the value UKFT delivers.

Key elements of the solution included:

1

Migration and consolidation of UKFT’s two largest WordPress sites into a single Webflow build, with UKFT Futures brought into the main UKFT website

2

Consolidation of UKFT Futures into the main UKFT website

3

Reworked information architecture and user journeys across key content areas

4

A refreshed interface that gives the brand a more modern and contemporary digital presence

5

Careful content migration supported by a comprehensive redirect strategy to protect SEO visibility

6

Webflow training to help UKFT’s team manage and publish content independently

7

Ongoing collaboration to support the platform as part of a long-term digital partnership

The Results

Ayko delivered a flexible Webflow platform that gives UKFT a clearer, more manageable and more sustainable foundation for digital growth.

The new website brings UKFT and UKFT Futures together, reducing complexity across two major parts of the estate and making it easier for the team to manage news, events, resources and member content. By moving to Webflow, UKFT now has greater control over publishing and a platform that better supports their day-to-day marketing needs.

The refreshed experience also presents UKFT’s role and membership value more clearly. Improved structure, stronger journeys and a more contemporary interface help users understand the organisation’s impact across the UK fashion and textile supply chain, while the carefully managed migration and redirect strategy support SEO continuity through the move.

The project also gives UKFT a stronger foundation for future improvement. With their internal team trained on Webflow and a more flexible platform now in place, UKFT can continue evolving their digital experience and performance over time.
