Amazon To Sell Cars Online From 2024

Amazon has announced that from early 2024, they will begin to sell vehicles on their website. This will initially be available to customers in the United States, who will have the ability to select a model and also customise this. Financing options will also be available, and then the customer can choose to pick their new vehicle up from the dealership or have it delivered to their home.

Amazon and Hyundai recently announced a broad, strategic partnership and it is Hyundai vehicles which will be the first available for purchase through Amazon in early 2024. Other brands will then be added later in the year.

Part of this strategic partnership also involves Hyundai utilising Amazon’s cloud computing unit AWS as Hyundai’s preferred cloud provider, and integrating Amazon’s voice assistant, Alexa, into their next-generation vehicles. For example, Hyundai drivers will be able to ask Alexa to warm the house up on their way home, turn on the smart lights, and even double-check doors are locked.

If Amazon’s launch of vehicle sales turns out to be successful, it is likely to roll out to Europe and the UK in late 2024 or early 2025.
